I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends. I certainly have a lot to be thankful for. As I was out in the woods hunting this morning, I thought about how lucky I am to be able to enjoy God’s creation. So often I take for granted that I have a warm place to sleep, good health, and a family that cares about each other. This is a perfect time in between feasts to reflect on what you are thankful for this holiday season.
I am thankful for my supportive teammates at my school. They are always willing to go the extra mile to help someone out! Just the other day, I took my boys (4 and 2) up to my school to do a little work and play in the gym while my wife caught up on her sleep. We got to my classroom and we unloaded all of our gear. The boys started playing and they wanted to help me with my work. We walked across the hall and I turned around and…Click! I heard the door close. I ran back to see my keys to our vehicle and my classroom sitting on a desk! We just stared at each other for about a minute wondering what we were going to do. I called up Shelly at 8 AM on a Saturday, and without hesitation, she rescued us. I am so thankful for her, and this is a good reminder for me that we are called to serve others whenever we can.
